A synchronous rectification buck converter is a power converter used to step down a high voltage to a lower voltage. It is a switching power supply topology commonly used for power management and power conversion in electronic equipment. Synchronous rectification buck converters operate similarly to non-synchronous buck converters, but a synchronous rectifier is introduced in place of the traditional freewheeling diode. Synchronous rectifiers are usually composed of MOSFET switching tubes and work in conjunction with the main switching tube. When the main switch is turned off, the synchronous rectifier is turned on, transferring the energy stored in the inductor to the output capacitor; when the main switch is turned on, the synchronous rectifier is turned off to prevent reverse current from flowing into the power supply.
