According to the report, a key growth driver is the rise of MEMS-based gas sensor technology. Highly responsive and low power consuming semiconductor type gas sensors are widely incorporated in gas analyzers for real-time industrial and environment monitoring applications. Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) gas sensors are made of sensing electrodes, micro heaters, and sensing materials. Metal oxide nanopowder is coated onto a substrate and is integrated into the gas sensor module. The metal oxide nanopowder records the change in resistance when exposed to oxidizing or deoxidizing gases to perform gas sensor operations. MEM-based sensors result in a reduced bill of materials (BOM) for a given gas analyzer.
