This IDC study presents a five-year forecast for the worldwide augmented, extended, mixed, and virtual reality headset market."The worldwide XR headset market received a much-needed boost in 2024 with the debut of Apple's Vision Pro headset," said Ramon T. Llamas, research director with IDC's XR team. "It drew attention to other products and news, pushing volumes higher. However, sustaining that growth in 2025 will be a challenge, given the impact that tariffs may have on price and demand. Still, IDC expects continued growth in the years ahead as more products come to market and use cases expand."
