Nokia's Future X Architecture Is Now a Business Reality for Network Carriers as well as Enterprises

This IDC Market Note assesses Nokia's Future X vision and delivery approach for enabling communications service providers (comm. SPs) and enterprises in select industries to harness the full load of 5G capabilities — low latency, high-throughput capacity, reliability, data analytics, and massive scalability attributes — as a means for providing enhanced value to their customers."For network operators, the best use case for virtualized network technology is not a focus on just cost savings in supporting network growth but rather the pursuit of new revenue from the implementation of 5G fixed and mobile wireless technology enabling companies in multiple industries to innovate and digitalize the way they do business. The magnitude of new industry and cross-industry use cases from 5G slices that can be optimized around low latency, network edge analytics, high-throughput capacity, and/or real-time data management is staggering. But, none of the promises from partner ecosystems, 5G slicing, and other business models will come to fruition without engaging new cloud-native operations, monetization, and real-time business management functions. Nokia is in an elite group of solution suppliers with the means to provide a complete network, operations, and business management solution set to comm. SPs as well as enterprises in a growing number of industries," says Karl Whitelock, research vice president, Communications Service Provider Operations and Monetization.
