Japan IT Spending Forecast by Vertical Segment, Company Employee Size, and Company Revenue Forecast Update, 2020−2024
This IDC study reports the actual IT spending (2018, 2019) and IT spending forecast (2020 to 2024) by industry sector, company size, and annual turnover in the Japan IT market. It classifies the industry segments into 21 categories, the company sizes and product segments into five categories, and the annual turnovers into four categories for analysis; and reports the IT spending trend observed in each industry segment.Work from home, telework, telemedicine, online classes, and product sales via the internet, which are becoming more widespread with the COVID-19 pandemic, are transforming lifestyles and business styles from the perspective of preventing the risk of infection through face-to-face contact and meetings in closed spaces. As a result, the importance of the role IT plays in this transformation is widely recognized by society. The new administration, which was inaugurated in September 2020, has prioritized the digitization of input, authentication, verification, and payment mechanisms using paper and stamps, and it is expected that the move to digitization across the nation will accelerate in the future. "It is vital to capture the changes in life and business that utilize IT triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity and to support the digitization of all life and business procedures from data entry, authentication, verification to payment in various industries," says Akira Muranishi, group manager, IT Spending, IDC Japan.
