Japan IT Spending Forecast by Company Revenue, 2019−2022

This IDC study provides IT spending trends and forecasts by annual sales sizes. Annual sales sizes are classified based on the following four revenue categories in FY17 (accounting year): less than 10 billion yen, at least 10 billion yen but less than 30 billion yen, at least 30 billion yen but less than 100 billion yen, and 100 billion yen and above. Specifically, this IDC study describes the performance of the Japan IT market in 2017, and presents market forecasts for the 2018–2022 period by annual sales, product, and industry segment. Different investment trends are seen in companies with different annual sales sizes in the Japan IT market. Companies with larger annual sales are expected to experience strong market expansion throughout the forecast period. "IT suppliers should consider different sales approaches according to the annual sales of companies. For companies with larger annual sales, IT suppliers should propose IT strategies that can increase corporate competitiveness in addition to improving business efficiency. For companies with smaller annual sales, IT suppliers should propose solutions that can swiftly resolve pressing issues, such as manpower shortage and technology transfer," says Hitoshi Ichimura, research manager, IT Spending, IDC Japan.
