IDC MaturityScape: Population Health Analytics

IDC MaturityScape: Population Health Analytics

This IDC study describes the IDC MaturityScape for population health analytics. During 2014, IDC developed a methodology to define maturity in any given technology market, and more recently, IDC has developed an approach to help organizations benchmark their own maturity against a normative data set. See Business Strategy: IDC MaturityScape Benchmark — Big Data and Analytics in U.S. Acute Care Hospitals (IDC Health Insights #HI249682, July 2014) for an example of benchmark data. IDC Health Insights has been conducting research in the population health management technology market as well as the healthcare analytics market; the results of this research have been incorporated into this study."The maturity model for population health analytics provides executives with a road map of key activities and business implications to move through the five stages of maturity. Healthcare organizations that use the maturity model to guide their analytics strategy and are able to execute against their strategy will be the winners in the long term," says Cynthia Burghard, research director, Accountable Care IT Strategies.
