This IDC Market Forecast study provides historical data (2015–2019) and forecast data (2020–2024) for the European server market. The forecast and historical data illustrate IT buyer consumption of server hardware segmented by product, CPU type, server class, socket capability, and primary operating system. "Our IT buyer surveys in Europe highlight that IT technology spend will be impacted due to the long and sustained impact that mitigation measures have had on buyer behavior and business opportunities, and there is an impact on both servers and storage as companies ration their investments and look to eke out every drop of performance or capacity on the table as they cope with the new market reality. The positive news is that 2Q20 will likely see the worst of the impacts, and the market situation is likely to settle and begin to improve as lockdowns ease and a new normal emerges."
