Digital-First World: Human Resources and the Modern Employee
This IDC Perspective looks at the human resources role as it relates to the employee, and how the modern employee expects more from its place of employment now and well into the future. "Organizations are focused on the business and its mission. Employees work toward the organization's mission using a set of modern, modular, and intelligent technologies to gain more insights, make better decisions, and enhance the organization's performance," said Mickey North Rizza, group vice president, Enterprise Software, IDC. "However, the organization's largest asset, its employees, is now at the forefront, deciding their own career paths, collaborating more, and making work-life balance choices a top priority. Capturing the employee's mindshare, along with deeper engagement, is critical to life of the organization. Technology is at the forefront of driving even more, but changes are required."
