Dell Technologies' APEX Helping Partners Deliver Pay-as-You-Go Solutions

Dell Technologies' APEX Helping Partners Deliver Pay-as-You-Go Solutions

This IDC Market Note looks at Dell Technologies' APEX announcements regarding end-customer offerings and the recently announced channel partner participation model. APEX solutions are intended to unify the company's as-a-service and cloud strategies, technology offerings, and go-to-market efforts. Dell has expanded its APEX portfolio to now include channel partner offerings. For the next 90 days, metal tier solution providers can participate in APEX via a referral model. Dell anticipates that a resale model will be in proof of concept within 90 days and available for all its channel partners in 2H21. Dell anticipates that, within 6 months, APEX will be broadly available to partners via a hosted APEX console or a partner console, will enable two-tier distribution in the console, and will expand the capabilities within the console for both partners and end users. "Distribution will play a key role in the success of Dell Technologies' APEX offerings. The sooner the two-tier APEX Console and a robust API are available, the sooner the distribution engine can help Dell scale this increasingly important product line." — Steve White, program VP, Channels and Alliances
