Spirit Production in Ireland
The Irish Spirit Production industry is in decline with pandemic- and inflation-related turbulence threatening the balance sheets of many industry players. The rising number of young drinkers, both domestically and overseas, looking for quality over quantity and locally-distilled spirits, predominantly Irish heritage whiskey, is driving the entry of craft distilleries.
Operators in the industry are concerned with the end-to-end process of spirits production with a particular focus on distilling, bottling and trading with retailers and wholesalers. The independent marketing and packaging of spirits are not considered to be industry-related, unless these functions are included within a firm's complete manufacturing process. Beverages produced through alcoholic fermentation (e.g. beer, cider and wine) are not included in the industry.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
