AbstractThis IDC study provides an analysis and sizing of the Western European human capital management (HCM) and payroll applications market for 2009 to 2011, and a forecast for 2012–2016. The study segments the HCM and payroll applications market by functional market (HCM and payroll applications), HCM segment (core HR, workforce management, recruiting, incentive management, and HR performance management), by deployment model (SaaS and on premise), and by Western European country. "The HCM and payroll applications market is undergoing fundamental change at the moment. HCM applications have seen strong growth rates recently and IDC forecasts continued strong growth over the next five years. These bright prospects have led to a gold rush in the talent management space, with SAP buying SuccessFactors, Oracle buying Taleo, IBM buying Kenexa, and Salesforce.com buying Rypple. The HR performance management segment in particular will be strong, with expected growth rates in the double digits every single year until 2016," said Bo Lykkegaard, research director, European Enterprise Applications, IDC.
