Abstract

This IDC Forecast Update presents an updated forecast for the worldwide and U.S. IT education and training market.

As of September 2009, the U.S. economy appears to be recovering. The worldwide economic situation is more varied and remains characterized by uncertainty.

The impact on technology spending in the United States and worldwide has been dramatic, and IDC has updated its technology spending forecasts to reflect this reality. The IT education industry is tied to the fortunes of the IT market as a whole. This forecast reflects that relationship and IDC's current, best estimation of the future of the IT education and training market. As IDC refines and updates its technology market forecasts, this forecast will be updated to reflect those changes.

This forecast updates Worldwide and U.S. IT Education and Training 2009-2013 Forecast: Impact Is Obvious But Moderates Over Time (IDC #217439, March 2009).
