Virginia Beach Professional Baseball LLC (VBPB) is undertaking the construction of a baseball stadium in Virginia, the US.
The project involves the construction of a 5,000-seat baseball stadium on 44ha of land. It includes the construction of 13 lit baseball fields, a 5,574m2 of office building, children play ground, party deck, VIP lounge, luxury suites, 1,200 parking spaces and other related facilities, and the installation of lights, safety and security systems.
Dills Architect has been appointed as architect, VHB Land Development as planning consultant, Sykes, Bourdon, Ahern & Levy, P.C. (SBAL) as legal advisor, and W.M. Jordan Company as general contractor for the project.
On February 11, 2014, Virginia Beach City Council voted to approve the bid to build the project.
In November 2015, the project received approvals with changes by Virginia Beach City Council in phases. The first phase includes a stadium and 10 grass-diamond fields scheduled to be complete in 2017.
For the project development US$32 million will be funded through sale of private bonds and US$5 million will be funded through private investors.
As of September 2016, the project has been facing delay due to financial issues and VBPB is in negotiation with city council and reviewing options to develop the project.
