National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is planning to undertake the construction of a headquarters building in Missouri, the US.
The project involves the construction of a 74,322m2 headquarters building on 81ha of land. It includes the construction of office space, conference space, meeting rooms, administrative facilities, parking and related facilities.
NGA entered into an agreement with US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to conduct an environmental impact statement (EIS) to study environmental impacts. NGA is considering six possible St. Louis metro area sites for its headquarters building.
On July 29, 2015, USACE issued a Notice of Intent for general contractor with submission deadline on August 13, 2015. The scope of the works includes preconstruction services to collaborate with the Architect-Engineer (AE).
In August 2015, USACE released Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) on four sites: north St. Louis, Mehlville, Fenton, and St. Clair County in Illinois.
On October 7, 2015, HDR Architecture was awarded a design contract worth of US$100 million to support the design and construction of the project. The contract has an estimated completion date of September 29, 2022.
On October 23, 2015, USACE completed its DEIS on the project.
In October 2016, the St. Louis Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority (LCRA) approved a resolution allowing NGA to issue US$120 million in bonds to be used on site work for the project.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2023.
