The project features construction of carriageways, roads, new lanes, facilities buildings, overpasses, junctions and the installation of overhead signals.

Werner Consult ZT GmbH was appointed as project management contractor.

SNIZEK+Partner Verkehrsplanungs GmbH, Dipl.-Ing. Steinwender & Partner GmbH and Gruppe Planung have been appointed as planners for the project.

Beitl ZT GmbH was appointed as landscape architect planner,

IBK Ingenieurbüro Kronawetter ZT GmbH and Retter & Partner Ziviltechniker Ges.m.b.H. has been appointed as civil engineer.

In 2011, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process was commenced for the S1/S8 West and East sections.

In April 2016 the EIA report published.

Public consultation activities are underway.

In March 2017 the archaeological excavations works commenced.

Scope

The project includes construction of a 34.4km long expressway in the province of Lower Austria, Austria.

The US$1,000 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of a West section from Süßenbrunn to Gänserndorf/Obersiebenbrunn with a length of with a length of 14.4km

2. Construction of an East section of Gänserndorf/Obersiebenbrunn via Marchbrücke to Marchegg with a length of 20km

3. Construction of carriageways

4. Construction of new road lanes

5. Construction of facilities buildings

6. Construction of junctions

7. Installation of overhead signals
