Analysis by Region - Emerging Markets - Comoros
Description
We still estimate that Comoros’s economy grew by 3.7% in 2025 and forecast it to expand at the same rate in 2026. Real private consumption and real investments are expected to drive short-term economic growth. However, amid heightened global uncertainty, the downside risks to our real GDP growth forecasts remain significant, especially given the narrow export base and dependence on imports, remittances, and tourism. Higher oil prices due to the US–Israel war in Iran could lead to higher inflation, which in turn could squeeze consumer spending.
