Macro - Country Economic Forecasts - Ireland

We raised our 2024 GDP growth forecast for Ireland to -0.8% y/y from -1.6% and kept our 2025 GDP forecast unchanged at 4.4%. Our upgrade to this year's forecast was driven by the stronger-than-expected start to 2024 as GDP rose 1.1% q/q in Q1, higher than our projection of 0.5%. We anticipate GDP growth will solidify as the year progresses, with this year's contraction explained by the feeble carryover from last year.
