Global Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) Market

Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) Market
The global insulated concrete form (ICF) marketwas valued at USD 808.85 million in 2017. This market is expected to reach USD 1,782.66 million by 2023, recording an estimated CAGR of 14.08% over the forecast period, 2018 to 2023.

Insulated concrete form or insulating concrete form (ICF) is a system of formwork for reinforced concrete which is made with a rigid thermal insulation that stays in place as a permanent interior and exterior substrate for walls, floors, and roofs. The forms can be characterized into three main categories: Block, Panel and Plank, each having their own advantages.

ICFs are revolutionizing the global residential, commercial, institutional and industrial building industries. Building with ICFs is gaining momentum over other building methods because with comparable costs, ICFs offer unparalleled comfort, energy efficiency, and safety ratings.

The global insulated concrete form (ICF) market is driven by a number of factors, such as growing demand for energ efficient buildings, growing use in high-rise residential buildigns, increased preparedness towards disasters, increasing demand for better thermal performance, and reduced construction time. On the flipside, high cost associations, both in terms of the expensive nature of the material and transportation cost, are expected to hinder market growth.

The global insulated concrete form (ICF) market has been segmented on the basis of material type, application, and region. By material type, polystyrene foam accounted for the largest market share in 2017 at around 90%. The segment is also expected to resister the fastest CAGR of 14.68% through 2023. By application, the residential segment is estimated to have the largest share, with 46.07% of the total revenue generated in 2017. However, the institutional segment is expected to witness the fastest CAGR during the forecast period.

The market has also been segmented by geography into the following regions – Asia-Pacific, North America, Europe, South America, and Middle East & Africa. In 2017, North America dominated the global ICF market, and is expected to witness the highest CAGR of 15.81% through the forecast period. The North America was dominated by Canada in 2017. Brisk changes by the Canadian government in the national and regional building codes, to embrace the international commitments for reduced carbon footprint, are driving the demand for ICF in the region. The new energy code in Canada requires continuous below-grade insulation. Several concrete pump truck companies in Southern Alberta, report that more than 80% of new foundations in the region are built with ICF. In the United States, the municipal and state governments have largely adopted the ICF technology, to abide by the quicker construction timelines and long-term energy savings. Furthermore, there has been a growing demand for ICF from schools. Middle East was estimated to be the third lastest growing market through 2023. Middle Eastern nations are conscious about energy efficiency, which provides immense potential for the growth of the ICF market.

TOP TRENDS:

In February 2016, Fox Blocks joins the ICF Manufacturers Association (ICFMA)."ICF is faster than building with wood, and concrete doesn't combust as wood does, that's the truth," said Eric Coleman, a developer with EYC Companies.
“Building houses with poured concrete is stronger, healthier, safer and more economical than traditional wood-frame construction”, said Daniel Keeslar, owner of Insulated Concrete Forms & More Inc..
In January 2015, NUDURA (Booth C7743) had unveiled the latest addition to its ICF Series of products, the Optimizer. Four feet in length and 12 inches tall, the Optimizer offers installers and designers the ability to meet 17 different stack scenarios without the need to cut or rip forms.
