This IDC study presents our updated five-year forecast for foldable phone shipments worldwide. The worldwide foldable phone market will reach 20.4 million devices in 2023, up 43.9% from the 14.2 million units shipped in 2022. Total foldable shipments worldwide will reach 54.3 million units by 2027, resulting in a CAGR of 30.8% from 2022 to 2027."Recent flagships launched over the past six months have been extremely impressive in design and eye-catching good looks," said Anthony Scarsella, research manager with IDC's Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. "Also, the build improvements on the latest models are a step in the right direction for the industry as consumers can feel more confident regarding durability and life span."
