Willbros Secures Its Cloud-Driven Transformation with Trend Micro Deep Security
This IDC Buyer Case Study is based on a conversation IDC had with Jason Cradit, vice president of Information Systems, Willbros Group, to discuss how the firm moved its public cloud use from being an unsanctioned line-of-business (LOB) transaction to a strategic priority. This meeting took place at Trend Micro's Global Customer Summit, held June 21–23, 2015, in Vancouver, Canada.
Willbros Group is a 100-year-old energy infrastructure engineering, procurement, and construction firm that has been historically known for its oil and gas pipeline projects. However, as the firm has diversified into managing electricity and other energy sources, it has also sought to streamline efficiencies and increase competitiveness through public cloud infrastructure and mobility usage. This required the firm to adopt new IT security capabilities that could monitor company assets across public and on-premise environments. Willbros chose Trend Micro's Deep Security as a service to monitor and secure its hosted workloads on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This IDC Buyer Case Study highlights the transformative effect moving workloads to public cloud services can have on an enterprise operating in a non-IT intensive industry, and how these scenarios require a more advanced IT security posture. Please Note: Extended description available upon request.
