Telstra's Strategic Acquisition of Ooyala Validates the OTT Streaming Video Opportunity
This IDC Insight covers the recent acquisition of Ooyala by Telstra. On August 11, 2014, Telstra, Australia's dominant telco, acquired 98% of Ooyala via an additional investment of US$270 million. Ooyala is one of the leaders in the online video delivery and analytics space. Telstra was already a significant stakeholder in Ooyala with a previous investment of US$61 million for a 23% stake.
