Miscommunication? Vendors' and End-User Companies' View of the Internet of Things in the Nordics

This IDC study presents the results of IDC's Nordic survey on the Internet of Things. It shows the adoption plans for IoT solutions in companies and public organizations in the four Nordic countries. It also examines the drivers and barriers and analyzes how good ICT vendors are in meeting the requirements of end users.

"As expected, both end users and vendors currently focus on the IoT," said Anders Elbak, research manager, IDC Nordic. "However, there are large discrepancies in vendors' and end users' perception about the benefits of the IoT, and there are indications that several IT vendors risk missing out on a vast market potential because they are neither focusing enough on it nor aligning their offerings and market messaging with customer expectations."
