U.S. Laser A3/A4 MFP Forecast, 2022–2026
This IDC study presents a five-year forecast for the U.S. laser A3/A4 MFP market. Unit shipments, value of shipments, and average selling value (ASV) information is presented. Data for 2016–2021 is actual, whereas data for 2022–2026 is projected."The supply chain crisis temporarily reversed a long-term trend in 2021. A4 MFPs lost share to A3 MFPs as vendors allocated limited manufacturing and shipping resources to higher-margined A3 devices," says Geoffrey Wilbur, research manager, Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions group at IDC. "However, when the supply chain crisis ends and the MFP market is again driven by demand rather than supply, the laser MFP market is expected to resume its shift from A3 to A4, with A4 color laser MFPs offering the greatest opportunity for growth."
