Google Cloud Targets Enterprises with Enhanced Features

Google Cloud Targets Enterprises with Enhanced Features

The IDC Market Note highlights Google Cloud's announcements at Google Next UK, which revolved around Google Cloud Platform (GCP) being enterprise ready. Google Cloud's approach to enterprise readiness can be seen in three parts: the development of its infrastructure to become more suitable for enterprises (including the addition of more robust security features), a flexible hybrid architecture, and application modernization and management platforms. It is also targeting the growing mobile workforce with its productivity suite, where Google Cloud has aptly identified a whitespace in a gap in the market. Finally, its focus on channel partners can help to ensure a wider stream to distribute its solutions to enterprises and to develop its capability to cater to the increasingly complex needs within this segment. From the announcements, IDC believes that Google Cloud can be a strong player in the business segment going forward — emphasizing its commitment to sustainability at a time when corporations are increasing judged based on their environmental and societal footprints can substantially add to its appeal.
