Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Enterprise Resource Management Market Shares 2014: Pureplay SaaS Vendors Drive the Surge
SAP continues to dominate the ERM market and increase its market share, but some of the other traditional vendors like Oracle, Yonyou, Infor, and Microsoft have lost some ground in 2014 to the new-age ERM vendors. Having said that, the recent developments and strategic moves made by these vendors are expected to start bearing fruit from 2015 onward. Although the whole gamut of the 3rd Platform technology development continues to drive adoption for ERM applications in the region, it will be predominantly cloud and mobility that will influence both new implementations as well as upgrades for the latest and greatest software available in the market. Pervasive access to enterprise data, dashboards, and reports is becoming crucial for business stakeholders, and it is imperative for technology vendors to deliver what is expected out of them to adapt to these changing market dynamics. Vendors will have to tweak their partner program, chalk out a concrete software as a service (SaaS) strategy, and make their applications intuitive and presentable to gain market presence, says Sabharinath Bala, research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific Enterprise Applications Software. This IDC study provides a sizing of the ERM applications market in 2014, vendor share of the top vendors, and historical revenue data for the total APEJ region. The regional revenue for the ERM market was US$3.7 billion in 2014, representing a 10.4% growth over 2013.
