2015 Traveler Decision Making

Learning how consumers decide on the type of trips they take was a primary goal of the study. Much detail is including in the report on how they make travel decisions and about their travel style. Also covered in-depth are the demographics of travelers, why travel agent users use agents, the differences between agent users and non-users and the plans to use a travel agent in the future.

The study was conducted by a third party, Lodestar Advisory Partners, who has extensive experience surveying consumers on the subject of travel. Carnival Cruise Lines sponsored the study showing their support for travel agents.

The survey results were based on responses from 3,000+ travelers who have been on at least one leisure trip requiring overnight accommodations during the past 12 months. All respondents were screened to ensure they had an annual household income of more than $50,000.
