Description

The Olefins Derivatives Monitor (ODM) delivers a streamlined, month by month readout of developments across the olefins and derivatives value chain. By tracking shifts in feedstock costs, product pricing, margins, trade route economics, and operational activity, each issue surfaces the fundamentals driving competitiveness across ethylene, propylene, polyethylene, polypropylene, and MEG.

This issue examines how diverging crude and gas markets reshaped feedstock competitiveness and early year margin performance across olefins and derivatives.

Crude softened while US gas firmed, lifting ethane costs; naphtha and coal declined. Olefins were mixed with improving margins, while PG propylene and PP weakened. PE and MEG margins mostly fell, with route specific exceptions.
