Analysis by Region - Emerging Markets - Cameroon

Annual growth in Q4 2023 was fairly broad-based, with only three out of the 17 sectors of the economy contracting. As expected, growth in the non-oil sectors outperformed the oil sector. While oil production is anticipated to prolong output contractions in 2024, ongoing public and private investments in the agricultural, manufacturing, mining, transport, and renewable energy sectors are geared to strengthen Cameroon's economic diversification and growth in the medium term. We forecast real GDP growth of 3.9% this year, following an economic expansion of 3.3% in 2023.
