A surface mount power factor correction controller is a power factor correction controller integrated in a surface mount package. Different from traditional DIP (dual in-line) packaged power factor correction controllers, SMPFC controllers use surface mount technology and can be directly soldered on the surface of a printed circuit board (PCB), making the power circuit board design more compact and Simple, improving manufacturing efficiency and reliability. The working principle of the SMPFC controller is similar to other power factor correction controllers, mainly including multiple functional modules such as current sampling, power factor calculation, PWM control, feedback regulation, and protection. It can accept the voltage and current signals of the input AC power supply, and control the on and off of the power switching device (such as MOSFET) by controlling the duty cycle of the PWM signal, so as to realize the adjustment and correction of the output DC voltage and power factor. SMPFC controller has the advantages of small size, light weight, easy installation, strong anti-interference ability, etc. It can be widely used in various power electronic equipment that requires power factor correction, such as LED lighting, TV sets, computers, industrial power supplies, etc. It should be noted that the SMPFC controller usually needs to be used together with other power electronic components and devices, such as filter capacitors, inductors, power switch tubes, etc., to achieve the complete design and stable operation of the power circuit.
