The sorting flow cytometer is a highly specialized cell analysis instrument that integrates the cutting-edge achievements of multiple disciplines such as fluid mechanics, optics, electronics and computer technology. The instrument focuses cells or particles suspended in liquid into a single column through the sheath flow, and passes through the laser beam irradiation area in turn. It uses the cell surface or internal antigens labeled with different fluorescent dyes to interact with the laser to produce characteristic fluorescence signals, and combines scattered light signals (such as forward scattered light reflects cell size, and side scattered light reflects the complexity of the internal structure of the cell) to achieve multi-parameter, high-speed and precise analysis of cells. More importantly, the sorting flow cytometer is also equipped with an advanced cell sorting system, which can efficiently and accurately separate target cells from mixed cell populations through electric fields or droplet deflection technology according to preset cell characteristic parameters, such as fluorescence intensity, scattered light characteristics, etc., providing an indispensable technical means for fields such as cell biology research, immunological analysis, oncology diagnosis and cell therapy.
