Global Rubber Moving Die Rheometer (MDR) Market Growth 2025-2031
Description
The global Rubber Moving Die Rheometer (MDR) market size is predicted to grow from US$ 268 million in 2025 to US$ 352 million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.7% from 2025 to 2031.
A Rubber Moving Die Rheometer (MDR) is an instrument used to measure the vulcanization characteristics of rubber. It is widely applied in the rubber processing industry for quality control and fundamental research. It operates by putting a rubber specimen in an almost completely enclosed die cavity maintained at a specific test temperature. The cavity consists of an upper and a lower die, with the lower die performing a small linear back-and-forth movement or oscillation. This oscillation subjects the specimen to shear strain, and the reaction torque of the specimen against the die cavity is measured. The magnitude of this torque depends on the shear modulus of the rubber compound. As vulcanization progresses, the shear modulus of the specimen increases, and the computer continuously displays and records the torque. Finally, a torque-time relationship curve, namely the vulcanization curve, is obtained. From this curve, parameters such as scorch time, optimum vulcanization time, vulcanization index, and maximum and minimum torque can be accurately measured.
