Non-oxidizing biocides (NOBs) are compounds that act against bacteria through several mechanisms: preventing duplication, stopping cellular processes and metabolic reactions or destroying the cell wall. Another advantage of non-oxidizing biocides is the great stability in solution - they have low sensitivity to variations in pH and temperature, a prolonged effect and the biocidal activity is easy to control.
