As a core intermediate linking dismantling and metallurgical refining in the lithium battery recycling chain, it represents the primary feedstock for hydrometallurgical recovery of battery-grade metal salts and ternary precursor materials. The upstream segment mainly consists of equipment and dismantling solution providers such as Dalan Environmental Protection, JieBang Precision, and Tianqi Shares, which supply crushing, sorting, and pyrolysis systems and undertake end-of-life battery collection and preprocessing. The midstream forms the technical core of regeneration, applying hydrometallurgical extraction and precision purification technologies, including those developed by Sunresin New Materials Co., Ltd. (Blue-Star), to recover and synthesize battery-grade ternary precursors or cathode materials from the black powder. Downstream applications directly serve power and energy storage battery manufacturers such as CATL, Gotion High-tech, CALB, and EVE Energy, where regenerated materials are reintegrated into new battery production, forming a closed-loop system of manufacturing, utilization, recycling, and remanufacturing. In 2025, the average gross margin was approximately 48%, the capacity utilization rate was about 71%, and production reached around 80,000 metric tons at an average price of USD 11,000 per ton.
