Low temperature atmospheric pressure storage tanks refer to large, vertical, flat-bottomed storage tank systems used to store cryogenic liquefied media (such as LNG, liquefied ethylene/ethane, liquefied propane/butane, etc., "refrigerated liquefied gases") under near-atmospheric or micro-pressure conditions. Their engineering scope includes not only the metal tank body but also key subsystems such as insulation, secondary enclosure/secondary containers, venting and BOG management interfaces, foundations and seepage prevention, fire and explosion protection, and monitoring. Applications are concentrated in the natural gas industry chain (liquefaction plants, receiving terminals, satellite stations, peak-shaving stations, ship bunkering and small inland waterway/port LNG stations), the storage and transportation of cryogenic liquefied products in petrochemical and chemical industrial parks, and seasonal peak shaving and supply assurance for electricity and city gas. The upstream of the LNG industry chain includes cryogenic materials (9% Ni steel/stainless steel/aluminum), thick plates and forgings, welding materials and welding process qualification, thermal insulation and cold insulation materials and cold bridge control components, valves and safety relief devices, liquid level/temperature/pressure and combustible gas detection, BOG compression/reliquefaction interface equipment, etc. The midstream involves manufacturing—including process and structural design, specification compliance, on-site civil engineering and large foundations, inner and outer tank installation, automated welding and high-proportion NDE (Non-Demand Engineering), cold insulation and cold testing/commissioning, and long-term integrity management solutions. The downstream is driven by LNG infrastructure investment and regional supply guarantee policies, characterized by project-based bidding, large single-project amounts, long delivery cycles, and extremely high requirements for HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and quality systems. Gross profit margins range from 20% to 30%.
