An internal rotor AC motor is an electric motor in which the rotor rotates inside the motor and the stator is fixed outside the motor. The advantages of the internal rotor AC motor are high speed, small torque, small inertia, and good dynamic balance. It is suitable for high-speed operation and fast response applications. The disadvantages of internal rotor AC motors are poor heat dissipation, difficulty in maintenance, and inability to withstand excessive loads. The working principle of an internal rotor AC motor is that when the stator winding is connected to a three-phase AC power supply, a rotating electromagnetic field will be generated on the stator. This electromagnetic field will induce a current on the rotor, causing the rotor to rotate due to torque. There are two common structures for internal rotor AC motors: squirrel cage and wound. The rotor of the squirrel-cage inner-rotor AC motor is a cage-shaped structure composed of some copper or aluminum bars. It is simple and durable, but it cannot adjust the speed. The rotor of a wound internal rotor AC motor is a cylinder composed of some windings. The speed can be adjusted by changing the voltage or frequency on the windings, but the structure is complex and easily damaged.
