Global High Frequency Band Ground Wave Radar Market Growth 2026-2032
Description
The global High Frequency Band Ground Wave Radar market size is predicted to grow from US$ 477 million in 2025 to US$ 662 million in 2032; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.9% from 2026 to 2032.
High-frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR) is an emerging ocean monitoring technology that utilizes the characteristics of short waves (3-30MHz) with small diffraction and propagation attenuation on the conductive ocean surface. It uses vertically polarized antennas to radiate radio waves and can detect oceans beyond visual range. Moving targets such as ships, aircraft, icebergs and missiles appearing below the plane line of sight can have an action range of more than 300km. They have the advantages of beyond visual range, large range, all-weather and low cost. At the same time, high-frequency ground wave radar uses the first-order and second-order scattering mechanisms of high-frequency electromagnetic waves on the ocean surface to extract wind field, wave field, flow field and other sea state information from radar echoes to achieve real-time monitoring of the marine environment.
