Long glass fiber reinforced polyamide (LFT-PA) refers to a composite material in which glass fibers, in the form of continuous rovings or fixed-length fibers of 5–30 mm, are fully impregnated with polyamide melt during pultrusion or online compounding, ultimately forming granules or direct extrusion molding. The fibers maintain a high aspect ratio in the finished product, resulting in significantly superior impact resistance, creep resistance, and specific strength compared to short-fiber reinforced grades. It is commonly used in automotive structural components, power tool housings, and high-strength supports.

Raw material composition and cost: Polyamide resin (PA6, PA66, or high-temperature PA) accounts for 55–65% of the formulation weight, corresponding to approximately 60–70% of the cost. Its monomer price is strongly correlated with the price trend of the phenylene-adipic acid chain. Alkali-free long glass fiber roving accounts for 25–35%, accounting for 20–25% of the cost. It is produced by melting and drawing minerals such as quartz sand and limestone, resulting in high energy consumption and sensitivity to natural gas prices. The remaining 5–10% consists of coupling agents, antioxidants, toughening agents, and other additives. Overall, raw material costs account for 75–80% of the ex-factory price, and resin price fluctuations are the primary driver of cost changes.
