FLCoS Micro Displays can leverage high-volume interconnect and packaging technologies to achieve small form factor, low power consumption and low cost. Compared with the switching time of traditional nematic liquid crystal in the range of 10ms, the switching time of FLCoS Micro Display is less than 100us, which is the difference between it and other microdisplays. The fast switching speed enables one to cover the surface of a CMOS silicon die with a layer of FLC to generate a full-color display. The CMOS circuit has a standard video input interface, and uses CMOS technology to implement a dot matrix reflective mirror on the top layer of the metal.

The unique advantage of FLCoS Micro Display technology is that the switching speed of this technology is fast, and the maximum speed is 100 times faster than traditional LCOS technology. When using field sequential color mode, conversion speed is very important. Field Sequential Color mode, unlike color filtering, produces full color at each pixel, combining red, green, and blue frames in sequence at breakneck speed, blending the colors. In addition, compared with micromirror technology, FLCoS Micro Display technology also considers a fully integrated micro-display solution, which can integrate display, memory, image processing and optical driver control functions into a single chip. Since no auxiliary components are required, the area and power requirements on the circuit board are significantly reduced.
