Global Dynamic Plantar Tactile Instrument Market Growth 2025-2031
Description
The global Dynamic Plantar Tactile Instrument market size is predicted to grow from US$ 73.2 million in 2025 to US$ 122 million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.0% from 2025 to 2031.
The impact of the latest U.S. tariff measures and the corresponding policy responses from countries worldwide on market competitiveness, regional economic performance, and supply chain configurations will be comprehensively evaluated in this report.
The dynamic plantar tactile instrument is an instrument used to automatically evaluate the tactile sensitivity of the plantar surface of rodents. Its core function is to apply precise and controllable mechanical stimulation to the sole of the experimental animal through a movable tactile stimulation device, and simultaneously record the actual force and latency time when the claw is retracted. The device can quantitatively evaluate the animal's tactile threshold and mechanical pain threshold by presetting force parameters (such as the magnitude of the force, the speed of increase, etc.). Its technical advantage is that it can accurately record the duration and the force when the claw is retracted. Compared with the traditional Von Frey fiber method, it significantly improves the accuracy and repeatability of experimental data. The dynamic plantar tactile instrument is usually composed of a control host, a test base and a test bench. The metal needle stimulates the sole of the animal's foot with a preset force and changing speed. When the animal shows behaviors such as retracting the foot or licking the foot, the stimulation automatically stops and the threshold is recorded. The device supports TTL I/O trigger input/output, is equipped with an embedded hard disk and can export data via USB or serial port. Its automated design greatly simplifies the tenderness test process. It is widely used in neuropathic pain research to evaluate abnormal pain and hyperalgesia, especially in models such as sciatic nerve ligation and chronic contraction injury.
