Description

The global Catalyst for Diesel Vehicles market size is predicted to grow from US$ million in 2025 to US$ million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of %from 2025 to 2031.

The catalyst used in diesel vehicles is a device used in the exhaust treatment system, mainly to reduce harmful emissions generated by diesel vehicles, such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter (PM), and carbon monoxide (CO). Diesel vehicle catalysts typically include two main types: oxidation catalysts and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalysts. Oxidation catalysts: Oxidation catalysts are mainly used to reduce particulate matter and carbon monoxide in diesel vehicle exhaust. It contains a catalyst layer composed of precious metals such as copper, palladium, and platinum, which can convert carbon monoxide and incompletely burned particulate matter into carbon dioxide and water vapor. SCR catalyst: SCR catalyst is mainly used to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) in diesel vehicle exhaust. It is usually composed of catalysts such as titanate and ferrite, and is used together with urea solution (urea aqueous solution formed by adding water to urea). In the SCR system, before the urea solution is sprayed into the catalyst, through the action of the catalyst, the urea in the urea solution is decomposed into ammonia gas (NH3), which can undergo a chemical reaction with NOx to reduce it to harmless nitrogen and water.

Automotive is a key driver of this industry. According to data from the World Automobile Organization (OICA), global automobile production and sales in 2017 reached their peak in the past 10 years, at 97.3 million and 95.89 million respectively. In 2018, the global economic expansion ended, and the global auto market declined as a whole. In 2022, there will wear units 81.6 million vehicles in the world. At present, more than 90% of the world"s automobiles are concentrated in the three continents of Asia, Europe and North America, of which Asia automobile production accounts for 56% of the world, Europe accounts for 20%, and North America accounts for 16%. The world major automobile producing countries include China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Germany, India, Mexico, and other countries; among them, China is the largest automobile producing country in the world, accounting for about 32%. Japan is the world"s largest car exporter, exporting more than 3.5 million vehicles in 2022.
