A motorcycle stability control system uses multiple sensors to control the driving dynamics of a motorcycle. It uses an inertial measurement unit(IMU)that constantly monitors the motorcycle's accelerations and orientation in three dimensions and measures the lean angle of the motorcycle while turning at corners. The motorcycle stability control system reduces the braking force and increases the tire grip to complete turning at corners.

According to the report, one driver in the market is reduction in skidding of motorcycles during acceleration and leaning. Motorcycles are less stable than three-wheelers or four-wheelers, and hence, are prone to more safety and stability issues. For instance, they may destabilize during acceleration or leaning at corners.
Further, the report states that one challenge in the market is lack of application on normal straight roads and off-road riding. Although the use of motorcycle stability control is beneficial during cornering, its application is limited when the motorcycle is driven on normal straight roads. In off-road scenarios, motorcycle stability control is not seen as an ideal fitment.
