Chief Learning Officer Survey: Learning and Development Outlook for 2016
This IDC study examines results from a November 2015 survey of 429 chief learning officers (CLOs). The survey focused on the impressions and opinions of the positive and negative trends in learning and development and those CLOs' predictions for 2016. As 2015 draws to a close and 2016 budgets are finalized, CLOs reflect on both what has been successful in 2015 and what they expect will transpire in 2016. Armed with this collected wisdom, CLOs, HR leaders, and other decision makers can take advantage of positive trends and avoid spending wasted cycles on outdated ideas.
CLOs remain optimistic about the impact of learning on their organizations. Employee development, leadership development, and increased use of competency management appear to be priorities for 2016. — Cushing Anderson, program vice president, HR, Talent and Learning Strategies and Services research
