Over the remainder of the forecast period, the Saudi Arabian construction industry is expected to register an average annual growth of 4.7% from 2027 to 2030, supported by an improvement in transport infrastructure, renewable energy and data centers, coupled with investments in preparation for the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) World Cup 2034 event. Notably, Saudi Arabia is planning to construct stadiums as the kingdom plans to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034. According to Saudi Arabia’s bid book, 11 new stadiums will be built by 2032. Saudi Arbia’s state-owned energy company, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) is aiming to modernise its grid and expand transmission capacity by the end of 2030. It involves a total investment of SAR220.1 billion ($58.7 billion). It includes the construction of 130 high-voltage substations along with about 12,900km of overhead transmission lines and 1,100km of underground cables. Growth over the forecast period will be supported by the country’s plan to expand its railway network to 8,000km by 2030 from 5,300km in 2024, as part of its Vision 2030.
