Consumables market in Europe is forecast to grow in both volume and value, after a period during which volumes remained flat as a result of falling replacement rates. The online channel and service stations are set to benefit as consumers continue to treat screenwash as a convenience product, whilst garages and VMNs will benefit, although to a lesser degree from vehicle manufacturers specifying the use of long life - and manufacturer / vehicle specific - coolant in new vehicles.

Since 2012, the volumes of consumable products sold have grown slightly, with the market having increased by a bit over 7% between 2012 and 2017. While volumes have only grown slightly, values have increased by almost 16% over the same period. It is a similar story with the individual components. Antifreeze and Coolant volumes grew by nearly 7% while values increased by about 16%, while screenwash volumes grew by over 7%, while values growing by well over 15%.

Overall volumes of consumables sold are forecast to increase by nearly 12% by 2022, while values are forecast to increase by about 16%.
