Linear Variable Displacement Transducers (LVDTs) are types of position sensors that measure linear displacements by converting mechanical motion into an electrical signal. LVDTs are used in a wide range of applications, including industrial automation, control and monitoring systems, automotive applications, aerospace systems, and medical equipment.

LVDTs consist of a movable core that is attached to the object being monitored, a stationary coil assembly, and a signal conditioning circuit. When the core moves linearly, it induces a voltage in the coil assembly that is proportional to its position. The signal conditioning circuit amplifies and filters the voltage signal to produce a precise measurement of the displacement.

LVDTs are highly accurate and can measure linear displacements within a fraction of a micron. They have excellent linearity, repeatability, and stability over long periods of use and are immune to electromagnetic interference.
