Cervical traction is a treatment for neck pain that involves lightly pulling patients head to create space between the bones of neck (i.e. cervical vertebrae) to reduce pressure and tension. There are two types of cervical traction manual cervical traction and mechanical cervical traction. Cervical traction is performed e either by healthcare provider or by patient itself. Cervical traction can be done manually (by hand) or with a cervical traction device.
