Traditional cochlear implants, however, come with a disability label and are prone to loss, resulting in a poor user experience and impacting daily activities, which in turn limits the widespread adoption of cochlear implant treatment. The greatest advantage of fully implantable cochlear implants is that they completely integrate the traditional external device into the body, making the wearer appear indistinguishable from a normal person. However, if patients require a more detailed 3.0T MRI scan, traditional procedures require surgical flap removal to remove the implant magnet. This is not only cumbersome, increases the risk of infection, and requires the patient to endure the pain of repeated surgeries. MRI-compatible cochlear implants demonstrated stable implant function before and after 1.5T and 3.0T MRI scans, with no significant impact on image quality.According to the World Health Organization, approximately 1.5 billion people worldwide suffer from varying degrees of hearing loss, of which over 60 million have severe or higher hearing loss, and over 10 million people require cochlear implants. However, only 130,000 cochlear implants have been performed in China, leaving the vast majority of hearing-impaired patients untreated. As my country enters an aging population, the problem of insufficient intervention for hearing loss has become even more prominent. A cochlear implant is a high-tech, active implantable medical device that restores hearing to patients with severe and profound hearing loss. It is the most effective medical device for treating severe sensorineural hearing loss, especially for young children with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. Cochlear implants can effectively address muteness caused by deafness. The increasing prevalence of ear infections and prelingual hearing impairment will drive the continued expansion of market demand.
