It determines the distance by emitting continuously modulated light waves (such as continuous sine waves) and measuring the flight time of these light waves from the transmitter to the target object and then returning to the receiver, thereby constructing a three-dimensional image of the target object. The continuous wave modulation TOF camera continuously emits modulated infrared lasers (or other types of light waves) through the light source. After the light beam is reflected by the surface of the measured object, a part of the light returns along the original path and is received by the detector. Since there is a phase difference between the transmitted and received signals, the flight time difference of the light can be indirectly calculated through the phase difference detection technology, thereby obtaining the distance information of the target object. Unlike the pulse modulation TOF camera, the continuous wave modulation TOF camera emits continuously modulated light waves instead of discrete pulse signals. This modulation method enables the camera to continuously receive reflected light signals, improving the measurement accuracy and stability.
