Figures are based upon 2006 production of polyurethane products and associated polyester polyol consumption.

Total global production capacity of polyester polyols is estimated to be in the region of 1.5 million tonnes, accounting for some 25% of world’s total polyurethane polyol capacity, which is estimated to be around 6 million tonnes.
